$100,000 Goal

Scouting America's goal is to train youth in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and, at older age levels, career-oriented programs in partnership with community organizations.

The Texas Southwest Council, Scouting America, serves young people in 24 counties in South & West Texas, (Coke, Runnels, McCulloch, Concho, Tom Green, Irion, Reagan, Upton, Crane, Dimmit, Pecos, Terrell, Crocket, Schleicher, Sutton, Menard, Kimble, Val Verde, Real Edwards, Kinney, Uvalde, Maverick, and Zavala).

Scouting America programs are divided by age and activity: Cub Scouting is for boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade, Scouts BSA is open to young men and young women in grades 6 through 12, and co-ed Venturing and Sea Scouting are available for young men and young women age 14 through 20. Scouting America also offers career-oriented co-ed Exploring programs to youth age 10 through 20.

With the help of powerful learning projects and exciting outdoor activities, Cub Scouts aims to teach children that doing their best can be a fun and rewarding experience-no matter the difficulty of the challenge.
For over 100 years, Scouts has helped create generations of leaders and outstanding citizens by allowing boys and girls to explore their interests, serve their communities, and discover their talents through youth-led activities like hiking, camping, and volunteering!

To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law

A Scout is:
Trustworthy
Loyal
Helpful
Friendly
Courteous
Kind
Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave
Clean
Reverent

Vision Statement - Scouting America will prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.

Mission

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Needs

We need support for a few capital projects along with financial assistance to help lower the cost of Scouting for lower income families. $15,000 would erase current program fee of $65 per youth member from the $150 per year registration fee down to $85 per year.
