The 100 First Rides Initiative

This year, Echoes of Eden Care Farm is proud to launch our 100 First Rides Initiative- a focused effort to provide 100 children in our community with their very first horse or pony experience.

For many children, especially those navigating trauma, stress, or difficult life circumstances, opportunities like this are out of reach. A first ride may seem small, but at the farm, we see something deeper. We see confidence begin to build. We see fear give way to trust. We see children relax, smile, and experience a sense of calm and connection that often stays with them long after they leave.

Each “first ride” is more than a moment... it is a carefully supported experience. Children are gently introduced to the horse or pony, guided through safe interaction, and given the opportunity to ride at their own pace with trained support nearby. There is no pressure, no expectations, just space to experience something new in a safe and encouraging environment.

The cost to provide one complete first ride experience is $60 per child, which includes animal care, staffing, equipment, and the safe, prepared environment that makes these moments possible.

Our goal is simple:
  100 children. 100 first rides. $6,000.

Every gift directly sponsors a child:

• $60 provides one full first ride experience
• $120 sponsors two children
• $300 sponsors five children
• $600 sponsors ten children

No matter the amount, every dollar moves a child closer to a moment they may never forget.

At Echoes of Eden Care Farm, we believe that healing and confidence often begin with small, meaningful experiences. For some children, this will be their very first time touching a horse. For others, it may be the first time in a long while that they feel brave, capable, and at peace.
