About the Organization
All Veterans are invited to our many activities and are given the same consideration as our members when they or their families need help.
To highlight our dedication towards our mission. We hold annual POW/MIA events, Veterans Day Parade, Vietnam Pinning Ceremonies, Memorial Day Flag Ceremonies, Wreath Laying Ceremonies, and many more. We hold Flag Retirement Ceremonies and accept Flags from throughout the community to be properly retired. When funds are available, we buy supplies of flags to provide replacements for a retired flag. In addition to recognition, we show an unwavering commitment to help the approximately 300 plus members and many nonmember Veterans who have "fallen on hard times". We were able to help 30 Veterans with financial needs ranging from a tank of gas to get to a doctor's appointment at the VA in Brownwood, to over $750 to make a Veteran's truck payment after losing his job in the Oil Field slump. All money given is always a gift, and repayment is never expected. All but two of the 30 Veterans we helped were non-members of the VFW.
