Junction Community After School Program & Family Center

About the Organization

Junction CASP became a 501c3 in November of 2020 with the hopes of becoming an after school program and family center. In September of 2021, CASP opened the doors to approximately 50 kindergarten through 5th grade students who were in need of after school care. Since that time, CASP has completed two successful school years, with a strong number of students attending each day. Monday through Thursday, CASP students engage in STEM, art, wellness Wednesday lessons, and receive community enrichment from community members. Community members and businesses come to CASP once or twice each week to explain their jobs or present on an important topic that directly benefits the community or students at CASP. CASP has also added a 6th-12th grade gardening club and reestablished a local community garden that had been left unused and overgrown for 15 years. Each summer CASP has been able to provide four different two or three day summer camps to students of Junction in 3rd through 5th grade. In August, CASP had 70 kindergarten through 5th grade students on the enrollment list with 10-15 more students on the waitlist. Next year, CASP will add a pre-k group and a Mother's Day Out program.
