Fort Concho Elementary S.T.E.A.M iUniversity

Fort Concho Elementary serves ~475 students from all areas of San Angelo. We have a very diverse population and strive to provide future ready learning experiences through hands-on, real-world application and understanding of concepts in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. We are committed to securing personnel and resources to improve and continue our S.T.E.A.M. programs and our play areas in an effort to provide the most cutting-edge learning opportunities for the overall wellbeing of all of our students.

Fort Concho Elementary offers students the opportunity to explore engaging, high-level, critical-thinking activities on a regular basis. Students rotate through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Music and Motion labs each week. These enrichment classes include learning and honing skills in coding, chess, Mariachi, Rock Band, digital music, video production, Lego and VEX Robotics, cooking, creative design, sewing, cosmetology, dance and more. Our higher grades explore college and career readiness courses in Computer Aided Drafting, Laser Technology, Design and Marketing, Virtual Architecture, Alternative Energies, Forensics and Flight Technology. We want to expand in the areas of Computer Graphics & Animation, Digital Audio Production, Digital Manufacturing, and Video Production. We plan to promote physical wellbeing by updating our outside play areas with features that promote STEAM concepts as well. By exposing ALL of our students to these many learning opportunities, our students are experiencing success in school and are developing their passion for learning and for their futures!
