San Angelo Performing Arts Coalition Inc

A nonprofit organization

To provide local, national, and international arts organizations state of the art facilities; in a way that ensures the success of local arts organizations, enables and encourages quality and diverse programming, and promotes cultural and educational opportunities for all so that we can reach the lives of people who live in our community.

We are the only non-profit performing arts center in our region West Texas and we are committed to enriching our community through promoting arts education, presenting world-class entertainment, and offering economic development opportunities for our area.

We were established in 2012 as the San Angelo Performing Arts Coalition, Inc, with the goal of creating a performing arts center for San Angelo and the surrounding communities. Through the diligent efforts of this community, we were able to renovate the old Coca-Cola factory into the Stephens Performing Arts Center that contains the Brooks & Bates Theatre, a Black Box Theatre, and seven dance studios for Ballet San Angelo.

We also manage the historic, over 90-year-old Murphey Performance Hall at City Auditorium. This breathtaking piece of architecture had fallen into such bad disrepair that it was rendered unusable. However, through the power of our community, funds were raised to restore, modernize, and save this theater and it is now our privilege to host world class musicians, artists, and shows on its stage.

Testimonials

"Great play! Well done San Angelo PAC bringing touring Broadway to San Angelo! I can't believe we get to see these incredible productions in our local theatre. I was able to see Sound of Music here and in San Antonio. Local benefits #1 tickets here were much less expensive, #2 the set was exactly the same #3 the lead actors were exactly the same #4 parking was free. You are truly missing out it you don't take advantage of San Angelo PAC." - Broadway Patron

"On behalf of Fort Concho Elementary, I would like to personally thank you and all parties responsible for the amazing opportunity for our fifth-grade students and our fourteen Korean student teachers to attend the SAPAC production of The Queen's Cartoonists! This experience had a huge positive impact on our students. When they returned, they could hardly contain their excitement and were talking over each other to share their comments with me!

Opportunities like this are what truly inspire and guide our students to find their true passions in life. We look forward to and take every opportunity to expose our students to as many culturally rich experiences as we can. Thank you and your generous donors for providing such a wonderful program for our kids to enjoy. Truly life changing!" - Lori Barton, Principal at Fort Concho Elementary

"Never did I imagine, that the quality of shows brought to our community, and the quality of local groups performing in the PAC and the Murphey Auditorium, would be so excellent and amazing! I have personally enjoyed Scotty McCreery, Cirque Mechanics, The Nutcracker, Twas the Night before Christmas, and many more! The Illusionists was one of my favorites, bringing all of the crowd into the program! Family fun for all!" - Shelley New, SAPAC Board Member

"The Queens Cartoonists was awesome. My whole cottage had a lot of fun. I did not know what to expect. I now have a lot of respect for musicians and the talent that goes into making music for cartoons. This was something very new for me and I look forward to getting to go to more shows at the Performing Arts Center." - Murphy, West Texas Boys Ranch
