West Texas Counseling & Guidance

A nonprofit organization

This is a special time for West Texas Counseling & Guidance (WTCG) as we celebrating 50 years of hope and healing. We’ve made great strides in our community. WTCG’s dedicated team of over 50 highly trained therapists provided 43,361 client sessions in the year of 2025. The demand for mental health support isn't slowing down —and neither can we. Unfortunately, right now our community continues to face a mental health crisis. In 2025 there were 25 suicide losses in Tom Green County — each life lost is a heartbreaking reminder of how much work remains. Together, we can continue providing hope and healing, and ultimately saving lives.

Serving 36 counties in rural West Texas and 4 counties in New Mexico, we are aware of the importance of breaking down barriers to allow accessible mental health care to everyone. We look forward to what the next 50 years will bring, with a legacy established in hope and growth. We're currently working to mold a strategic plan that supports the roots we've planted to keep our mission moving forward.

Mission

The Mission of WTCG is to break down barriers to mental health care by providing accessible, evidence-based counseling, and supportive services that empower individuals and families to reach their full potential in mind, body, and spirit.
