About the Organization
The San Angelo Kiwanis Club works year round to improve the lives of the children in our community. For 78 years we have sponsored the Little Olympics, a field day in May for elementary students in San Angelo and surrounding communities. In 2018 the Texas Historical Society named Little Olympics a Historical Event and a plaque was installed at San Angelo Stadium in honor of this annual event. We hold a number of fundraisers each year and all of the money collected goes directly back to children's organizations through a grant application process. Grant recipients include San Angelo Early Childhood Development Center, Children's Miracle Network, Children's Advocacy Center, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and many more. Club members also participate in various community service activities to benefit our local community. Examples include Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Texas Highway Clean-up, Helping Hands, Concho Valley Regional Food Bank Distribution, and the Parade of Lights at Christmas. In January, 2021, the San Angelo Kiwanis Club celebrated our 100th birthday as a non-profit in San Angelo.
