San Angelo Clubhouse, a program of MHMR Concho Valley, empowers adults living with diagnosed mental illness to build meaningful, connected, and productive lives. Through a model rooted in dignity and belonging, we support recovery by fostering community, developing job skills, and creating opportunities for purpose and growth.

We are proud to be one of more than 370 Clubhouses worldwide, part of an evidence-based, internationally recognized approach to mental health recovery. At the Clubhouse, individuals living with conditions such as major depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and PTSD are not defined by their diagnoses. They are not “patients” or “clients,” they are Members.

Membership means belonging to a community where people are valued, needed, and empowered. Members and staff work side by side to operate the Clubhouse, contributing to daily operations while building confidence, skills, and relationships. Together, they create a supportive environment where recovery is not just possible—it is expected.

Members have the opportunity to participate in four primary work units:

  • Culinary
  • Communications
  • Clubhouse Café
  • Cultivation (therapeutic gardening)

Each area provides hands-on experience that supports employment readiness, personal development, and social connection.

The impact of the Clubhouse model is both powerful and measurable. Members who participate regularly report:

  • A 78% decrease in psychiatric hospitalizations
  • An 80% decrease in law enforcement encounters
  • 85% say their lives are significantly better

Located along the beautiful Concho River at 404 S. Irving, San Angelo Clubhouse is more than a program; it is a place of hope, healing, and belonging. We invite you to visit, take a tour, and see firsthand the incredible work our Members accomplish every day.
