Strengthening Our Community, One Household at a Time
On an average month, the McCulloch County Hunger Coalition provides groceries to 136 households, supporting roughly 275 individuals across our community. Among them are 45 homebound neighbors in Brady who depend on our volunteers to bring food directly to their doorsteps.
These numbers represent real people — families working hard to make ends meet, seniors living alone, and neighbors facing unexpected challenges. Your support during San Angelo Gives helps us keep shelves filled, sustain our home‑delivery program, and ensure every person who reaches out for help is met with dignity, compassion, and a box of nutritious food they can count on.
Your gift becomes the reason a neighbor feels seen, supported, and never forgotten.
The mission of the McCulloch County Hunger Coalition is to relieve hunger and poverty in a compassionate manner for families and individuals who are experiencing food insecurity and economic hardship.
The McCulloch County Hunger Coalition seeks to respond to the root causes of hunger and to restore dignity, health, opportunity, and hope to people living in poverty. We seek to change lives in the communities we serve by feeding the hungry today and building a healthy, hunger-free community in the future.
To achieve our mission, we educate the community about the health impacts of food insecurity and engage them in the fight against hunger and poverty. We maintain a local food bank and facilitate the working relationships among other pantries, emergency food responders, feeding programs, and food providers so that we are all able to provide nutritious food for families and individuals suffering from food insecurity and outright hunger in McCulloch County.
As we prepare to move into a new building, we urgently need additional shelving and a sturdy cart to safely move heavy food boxes. Like many food pantries and food banks, we are struggling to keep our shelves filled so we can provide much‑needed groceries to our neighbors. We strive to offer proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables when available, and essential pantry staples. Your support helps us strengthen our new space and continue providing nutritious food to families across McCulloch County.
Our current needs include:
Additional shelving to prepare our new building for safe, organized food storage.
A heavy‑duty cart to move large food boxes and support volunteer safety.
Support to help us keep our shelves filled, as many food pantries and food banks are struggling to meet rising need.
Funding to provide proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables when available, and essential pantry staples for our neighbors.
