The Haven Family Shelter

A nonprofit organization

The mission of The Haven is to reduce the incidence and the impact of domestic violence and /or sexual assault in McCulloch, Mason, Menard, Kimble, Concho, Edwards Tom Green and surrounding areas by providing services and support that empower victims to rebuild their lives and regain their dignity within a safe and caring community.

The Haven Family Shelter (Hope Haven) was established in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to provide a safe environment to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, including men, women and children. The Haven provides survivors with emergency shelter, crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling and other direct victim services that aid in the well-being of our clients turning them from victim to survivor. Our services are a benefit to the community in that The Haven provides awareness, education, and preventative programs that help to identify abusive behaviors as well as provides services to those who are victimized. The Haven defines success by each client it serves.

In March 2026, The Haven expanded its reach by opening a dedicated outreach office in Tom Green County to provide critical sexual assault services. This new location extends the compassionate care we’ve long provided in McCulloch County, allowing us to serve more survivors with the support, advocacy, and resources they deserve. With your support, we are able to bring hope, healing, and access to life-changing services to individuals who need it most.
