Texas Exes - San Angelo Chapter

A nonprofit organization

Mission: The Texas Exes promotes and protects The University of Texas at Austin and unites alumni around the world. Our Chapter strives to do that at the local West Texas level (primarily serving San Angelo and Tom Green County) while also engaging, informing, educating, supporting and volunteering in our community. As part of that, we aim to provide financial and other support to West Texas kids heading to UT to pursue a first-class education, including annual scholarships to local kids.

What starts here changes the world! \m/ Proud Chapter of the Texas Exes, the Official Alumni Association of the University of Texas at Austin. Our chapter was established in 1927!

What We Do: Keep alumni connected and engaged with their alma mater | Advocate on the university's behalf and support its mission | Enrich the student experience before and during their time on campus | Communicate the value of the university | Foster a welcoming environment and home on campus for Longhorns and friends | Preserve the traditions of the university.

Funds raised through San Angelo Gives will go to our scholarship fund for local kids heading to UT.

Testimonials

"I am an Architecture major so I spend more than half of my day in my studio making models and learning all about the beauty of buildings. It's a lot of work, but I can't imagine myself learning about anything else. I also joined the American Institute of Architects Students that allows me to go tour and communicate with real architecture firms. In the future, I'm really excited to continue my education at UT and I hope to be able to study abroad with this amazing program that allows Architecture Students to study all over Europe." Genesis, 2018 Scholarship Recipient, Architecture Major

"My first semester at the University of Texas at Austin was full of so much change and transition. I joined a student ministry on campus called STUMO and over winter break, I got to travel with them to a conference where I was able to grow in my faith and meet even more people with the same interests. I got a general writer position with BurntX, a student publication on campus and have just recently secured another position at BLEND magazine as a general writer and assistant to the head writer. One of my favorite professors, Tracy Dahlby, worked for The Washington Post which really inspired me, and I cherish everything I've learned in the class. UT has opened up a lot of opportunities for me and I'm looking forward to everything that is to come." - Lauren C., 2018 Scholarship Recipient, College of Communication
