Mission

Our mission is to educate and disciple children with critical needs and communities suffering from poverty, war, and exploitation.

Gather1 is providing transformative education through Gospel messaging and safe shelter for 200 children in our children's centers in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Pakistan. We provide safe shelter and transformative numeracy, literacy, and life-skills training for children who have no viable means of support. Education is a key factor for empowering both children and communities. 

Over the last few years, San Angelo Gives has enabled us to reach into South Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Pakistan with education and discipleship. Not only are we bringing lost sons and daughters home through gospel messaging, but the children in our care will continue to receive quality education and become high-potential leaders who will impact their communities.

Need - We Are Expanding! 

We are raising funds to expand our Gather1 location in Pakistan. Home of Joy is both a children's home providing a life-changing home and family to critical needs children, as well as a Christian school, providing a high standard of education to the community that otherwise has limited access to quality education. Many of the children who now call Home of Joy their home have come out of slavery and now are receiving holistic care and quality education. The children attending the school are hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, receiving biblical studies classes, and discipleship through our amazing staff! 

- Construction has already begun on a new girls dormitory. This will allow for room to accommodate more children in need of a safe home. We are raising funds to purchase construction materials, pay laborers, and furnish the dormitory upon completion. 

- Home of Joy School has grown to over 150 students, and we are expanding to be able to accommodate 230 students. We need to purchase desks, uniforms, school supplies, and hire more teachers.

Testimonials

In the narrow alleys of a slum and behind the noisy buzz of a barbershop, two young boys lived lives far removed from the classroom and their childhood dreams. Qasid, a child laborer in a sock factory, and Sahil, a boy working long hours in a barbershop, had never stepped into a school. Their days were filled with work, not words from books, and their hearts were weighed down by hardship, not hope. 

Qasid came into the care of Home of Joy, a place where forgotten children are seen, loved, and given a new beginning. Though he once spent 12 long hours daily in the factory, now he sits at a desk, pencil in hand, hope in heart. Qasid has become a position holder in our school. Moreover, he is growing in Christ, learning that he is not just a worker or a statistic, but a child of God with a purpose and destiny. His gratitude runs deep for the education, the care, and the chance to walk a new path.                       

Sahil's journey is no less powerful. From a life of hardship behind a barber's chair, he stepped into the light of opportunity when he joined our school. He had never seen the inside of a classroom before, but now, though older than his classmates, Sahil is one of the top students in his class. His transformation is not only academic; the Gospel has touched his heart. He knows Jesus now, not just as a name, but as a personal Savior who redeems broken lives and rewrites stories.

Both Qasid and Sahil are living testimonies that no background is too broken, no child too lost, and no life too far gone for God to redeem. Their stories are woven with grace, their future full of light. We give all glory to God for what He has done and continues to do in the lives of these precious children through Home of Joy. May their testimonies be a reminder that with love, opportunity, and the transforming power of Christ, everything can change.
