The Foster Closet exists to ensure that every child in foster care has access to essential clothing and basic necessities providing dignity, comfort, and stability during an incredibly vulnerable time. We also support foster families by easing the financial burden of caring for children, helping with clothing, school supplies, furniture, car seats, bicycles, and other essential items.

We provide access to new and gently used clothing so children can feel confident and comfortable in their daily lives. Having essentials like clothing, shoes, and personal hygiene items helps restore a sense of normalcy during times of transition. Even small, personal items can communicate something powerful to a child—that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

For foster families, the Foster Closet helps bridge immediate gaps in care. Because placements often happen suddenly, we work to ensure families can access needed items quickly, reducing financial strain and allowing them to focus on providing emotional support and stability.

Beyond meeting physical needs, we strive to raise awareness about children in foster care, create meaningful volunteer opportunities, and build a strong network of support around foster families and the children they serve.

Testimonials:

"In preparation for an emergency placement, I needed to acquire diapers, despite having primarily cared for teenage foster children. Fortunately, the foster closet came through with remarkable speed, supplying a car seat and diapers within hours of being contacted. This prompt response set the tone for our enduring relationship. Over the course of our foster care journey, the foster closet family consistently provided vital support, whether it was helping with back-to-school necessities, emergency situations, or spontaneous placements.

The friendships and sense of community that have emerged are truly priceless. What is more, the foster closet's commitment did not stop after our adoption; instead, they continued inviting us to participate in various events, nurturing connections between foster and adoptive families. The depth of their impact on our family cannot be overstated.
As my girls have grown into teenagers, we have begun volunteering at The Foster Closet, seeking to pay forward the kindness extended to us during our time of need."

"I have received clothes for 4 children when I got them thru cps. Also a car seat, also school supplies and school clothes. It was a hard situation when i got these 4 children due to the fact i already had 5 children of my own. My youngest was already 9 and the youngest of the foster was 10 months. I was having to start all over. To have The Foster Closet to help out was one of the biggest blessings ever. I got the children with the clothes they were wearing and that’s it! To this day when I need help a simple message to foster closet and the help is still there! Thank you

"The Foster Closet has been a tremendous help for our family  since 2021. When we finally adopted our babies now 11 and 10 . They have helped us with everything they needed for back to school. With School clothes and all the supplies needed for their grade.  Even a jacket to make sure they are warm. With their help is one less thing we have to worry about. So we can focus on our children and family. Having Foster Closet is much needed more than people know.  Their support has been such a huge impact and blessing in our lives.  Our family thanks you all so much ❤️ 🙏"
