TWA's Wildlife by Design – San Angelo

The Texas Wildlife Association’s Wildlife by Design program brings conservation education directly into San Angelo area classrooms.

Through this program, TWA’s professional educators partner with local teachers to deliver customized, hands-on wildlife and natural resource conservation lessons for grades K–8. Each presentation is designed to align with classroom curriculum and TEKS standards, ensuring students receive meaningful, grade-specific learning experiences.

Our contract educators visit schools an average of three days per week, bringing engaging, interactive lessons that make science come alive. Students explore topics such as:

• Water conservation and watershed science

• Predator and prey relationships

• Native Texas wildlife biology

• Habitat and land stewardship

These dynamic, wildlife-based demonstrations and activities help students connect what they learn in textbooks to the natural world around them.

Launching in 2026: Land, Water & Wildlife Expedition – San Angelo

In 2026, we are excited to host our first Land, Water & Wildlife Expedition in San Angelo.

This unique conservation partnership between TWA and local schools will provide:

• TEKS-aligned classroom preparation

• A hands-on expedition day experience on private land

• Real-world exposure to land stewardship and wildlife management

Students will step outside the classroom and into the field, deepening their understanding of natural resources through immersive, experiential learning.
