Playland Communities Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Please join in the excitement of like-minded community leaders who drive this effort...moms, dads and grandparents just like you. Our goal is to provide recreational, educational and community-gathering spaces for Christoval residents and guests. Having raised nearly $400,000 in gifts and pledges to bring this historic gathering space to life., we need your help to complete installation of the 1/4 mile walking trail, security lighting and fencing, picnic gazebos and beautiful entrance.

For over 100 years, historic City Park on Main Street, Christoval, has hosted gatherings and created memories...and it's time to breathe new life into the beautiful tree-covered park by providing...

- PAVILIONS for community events and private parties
- PLAYSCAPE for all ages and abilities
- PICNIC GAZEBOS and improved open-air tables
- PERMANENT FEATURES including an outdoor classroom, walking trail with memorial pavers, lightning, vendors spaces and more.

This project builds upon City Park's rich history as a community gathering place and the importance of public, shared space. We hope you agree parks are critical to having an enjoyable, thriving community...much like great schools and churches. And, if you agree to the benefits of having a multi-faceted park, you'll help realize this exciting vision.

Testimonials

"Christoval, Texas, is a vibrant town with one small, modest community park. The City Park is in great need of rehabilitation after many years of being barely usable. A community committee has been formed, and, architectural plans drawn up along with an estimated budget. New, updated facilities are sorely needed for the City Park and will reflect the growing community strength of Christoval."
R. Howard, Head of the River Ranch and project adviser

"The river park, Pugh Park, on Toe Nail Trail is being beautifully redone at no cost to area residents. Next up is City Park on Main Street, the small, community park with over 100 years of history hosting family and community gatherings. As a member of a volunteer group behind remodeling the Park, I'm happy to report no tax money is being solicited for this project but rather it's being funded through donations and grants.

Upon completion, Christoval will have a beautiful "anchor" for our community, fit for all ages and capabilities. As such, during these trying times, if you are able to donate to San Angelo Gives we respectfully ask you consider donating to this Park. ."
M. Jacobs, business owner and volunteer

"Christoval is experiencing a revival, driven by committed volunteers. Being an "unincorporated" community requires that citizens source improvements on their own, absent of funds nor city services often available in cities.

As part of the revival, a vision exists to sculpt City Park into a jewel...one for all ages and abilities to enjoy. Once the park project is complete, being situated at the busiest intersection of town, passerby's will both enjoy the beauty of the tree-covered gathering space, along with the gratification stemming from a community working together to complete this project to the benefit of residents and guests.

Please help us move forward. Your donation will uplift the Christoval community now and for decades to come. Thank you for your consideration."
S. Pate, business owner and volunteer
