About the Organization
The Concho Valley Home for Girls has two separate programs. Combined, these programs help children and young adults from 11 up to 26 years old. Here is a little information about each program.
Since 1973, the Concho Valley Home for Girls has offered girls from troubled homes an opportunity to overcome the hurts of the past and prepare for a better future. We offer basic care and a residential facility for girls between the ages of 11 and 17. Our girls live in houses with staff who serve as their "house parents" and up to six other girls. Our Christian-based homes provide a stable and nurturing environment for the girls to grow and learn. We teach our girls respect, discipline, and responsibility through the use of a level system. Based on their behavior, girls are either awarded privileges or given consequences. Our girls attend public school at San Angelo ISD and are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities such as horseback riding, 4-H, FFA, and a summer work program. We applaud our girls' accomplishments; when they fail, we try to help them figure out how to get a better result next time.
