At the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Concho Valley, we turn afterschool hours into opportunity hours.

Every year, more than 800 young people across San Angelo and Menard walk through our doors—many from hardworking families navigating financial strain and limited access to enrichment opportunities. For them, the Club is more than a place to go after school. It is a place to belong.

We provide a safe, supportive environment where youth receive homework help, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and form meaningful relationships with caring adult mentors. From academic success and workforce readiness to healthy lifestyles and character development, everything we do is designed to help young people become “Future Ready.”

For many of our members, the Club also meets basic needs. We serve meals daily, ensuring kids have access to the nutrition they need to focus, learn, and grow. We provide structure during the critical hours after school when many youth would otherwise be unsupervised. And we offer opportunities that expand horizons—introducing young people to new experiences, new skills, and new possibilities.

The need is real.
80% of the youth we serve come from low to extremely low-income households, and 68% live in single-parent homes. Without access to programs like ours, many would face barriers that limit their ability to succeed in school and in life.

But at the Club, we see something different.
We see potential.

We see the student who improves their grades because someone sat beside them and said, “You’ve got this.”
We see the teen who discovers a career path they never knew existed.
We see confidence grow, goals take shape, and futures change.

Our recent expansion to include the Menard community reflects our deep commitment to reaching more youth who need us most—and strengthening how they are served across the Concho Valley. No matter the location, our mission remains the same: to ensure every young person who walks through our doors has the support and opportunities they need to succeed.
