Over the last 41 years, the JPW Learning Center has strived to offer solutions to individuals who have struggled with learning. Education does not have to be hard for students if it is presented in a multi sensory way. The JPW Learning Center offers diagnostic testing for students and specialized training for teachers to address the needs of the struggling student diagnosed with dyslexia. The JPW Learning Center is one of 11 training centers in Texas accredited by the International Multi-structured Language Education Council, literally helping thousands of students through the teachers trained at the Center. Teachers attending the training program offered at the JPW Learning Center have the opportunity to earn a total of 15 graduate hours towards a Masters Degree through Midwestern State University.
I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the significant impact that Judy Knight and JPW Learning Center has had on our family, specifically my daughter Landry.
Landry was diagnosed with dyslexia in 2023. She started lessons with Judy Knight shortly after.
Under Judy’s tutelage using the Take Flight program, Landry has progressed from a young lady who struggles with reading both privately and publicly to a confident young lady who volunteers to read in her classroom and other public environments like the Christmas program at church. In addition to this, she is reading above grade level.
Much of the confidence and resiliency Landry demonstrates today is a culmination of the support, encouragement, and reassurance Judy has freely given. She cares for Landry personally and professionally providing the moral and academic support Landry needs.
We will never be able to repay Judy for what she has done for Landry. We are eternally grateful for her time, her expertise, and her heart for helping children with dyslexia succeed and know their worth.
Forever indebted,
Diana Moreland and Family
Testimony #2
I am writing to offer my testimony regarding my experience with JPW Learning Center and the incredible work they do for children and families in our community.
My daughter, Alexis, has been receiving tutoring services through JPW for the past several years, working closely with Ms. Dana. As a former foster youth adjusting to a new home, Alexis faced significant challenges both academically and emotionally. She would often become overwhelmed, frustrated, and resistant to learning, particularly due to her dyslexia and intellectual disability. School has always been something that is hard and makes her feel bad about herself. She was also severely traumatized and anxious about starting a new chapter with a new family, a new home, and a new school district.
From the very beginning, Ms. Dana approached Alexis with extraordinary patience, compassion, and understanding. Ms. Dana has a remarkable ability to make learning engaging and fun, and Alexis absolutely adores her. Over time, she became so much more than a tutor to my daughter. She became a trusted mentor and a steady, nurturing presence in Alexis’s life. Her sessions went above and beyond. Tutoring with Ms Dana felt like therapy, helping Alexis build not only academic skills but also confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience.
I had the opportunity to sit in on many of these sessions, and I learned just as much as Alexis did. Watching Ms. Dana interact with her taught me invaluable strategies for managing challenging behaviors with empathy and consistency. The impact of her approach has extended far beyond tutoring. It has helped me be a better mom and shape how we support Alexis at home as well.
Academically, Alexis has made meaningful progress in both reading and math. When she started, she was still struggling with the alphabet and tested at a pre-K reading level. Currently, she tests at a second grade level. Alexis, who also struggles with dyscalculia, now enjoys math. She feels a newfound confidence at school. This is extraordinary for her and gives me hope she may be able to achieve independence someday.
JPW Learning Center has been a blessing to our family. Their commitment to serving children with dyslexia and their deep care for each individual child is evident in everything they do. We are so appreciative of this organization.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Michalewicz
