Our goal is to provide a wider range of recreational and community-gathering opportunities. Improvements envisioned for City Park include:
- pavilions, one for private family parties and another functioning as a bandstand with space for open-air seating and dancing,
- gazebos with picnic tables and BBQ grills,
- playscapes for all ages and abilities,
- shaded walking trail,
- vendor spaces for outdoor festivals,
- green space for soccer and games,
- permanent restrooms,
- drinking fountains, mister and more.
This project builds upon City Park's rich history as a community gathering place and the importance of public, shared space. We realize in this difficult time many people are unable to donate, but if you can, we thank you in advance for considering us and for helping build a future where we can once again enjoy the opportunity to gather as families and as a community.
"Christoval, Texas, is a vibrant town with one small, modest community park. The City Park is in great need of rehabilitation after many years of being barely usable. A community committee has been formed, and, architectural plans drawn up along with an estimated budget. New, updated facilities are sorely needed for the City Park and will reflect the growing community strength of Christoval."
R. Howard, Head of the River Ranch and project adviser
"The river park, Pugh Park, on Toe Nail Trail is being beautifully redone at no cost to area residents. Next up is City Park on Main Street, the small, community park with over 100 years of history hosting family and community gatherings. As a member of a volunteer group behind remodeling the Park, I'm happy to report no tax money is being solicited for this project but rather it's being funded through donations and grants.
Upon completion, Christoval will have a beautiful "anchor" for our community, fit for all ages and capabilities. As such, during these trying times, if you are able to donate to San Angelo Gives we respectfully ask you consider donating to this Park. ."

"Christoval is experiencing a revival, driven by committed volunteers. Being an "unincorporated" community requires that citizens source improvements on their own, absent of funds nor city services often available in cities.
As part of the revival, a vision exists to sculpt City Park into a jewel...one for all ages and abilities to enjoy. Once the Park project is complete, being situated at the busiest intersection of town, passerby's will both enjoy the beauty of the tree-covered gathering space, along with the gratification which stems from a community working together to complete the project.
Please help us move forward. Your donation will uplift the Christoval community now and for decades to come. Thank you for your consideration."
