CyberPatriots by San Angelo ISD

We live in a world of networked technologies and as it expands, so does the responsibility to ensure cyber awareness among citizens. In efforts to expand protection, digital defenders are needed to secure critical data. We are growing our students into Cyber Patriots through immersive games, relevant and developmentally appropriate educational programs, and competitions. This will open the doors of opportunity to students with an interest in cybersecurity and careers in related fields.

San Angelo ISD has partnered with Angelo State University and The University of Texas at San Antonio to ramp up cybersecurity education for our students. The CIAS (Center of Infrastructure Assurance and Security) of UTSA co-founded CyberPatriot, the world's largest cyber defense competition and the Air Force Association's National Youth Cyber Education Program. The purpose and design is to inspire students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. We're putting the pieces together to prepare our middle and high school students on all campuses to participate in these competitions and more. A lot goes into it, but an even greater reward comes out of it.
